A week after a devastating fire, Stay and Play Daycare Center has re-opened

A week after a devastating fire, Stay & Play Daycare Center has re-opened.  The daycare resumed operations Monday in temporary quarters, with approximately 28 children divided between the homes of founder/owner Anneka Bickford and her daughter, Ashley, the center director. She thanked the Vermont Department of Children and Families child care licensing division, Lyndon Zoning department, and state fire marshal’s office for their assistance with the speedy turnaround. Meanwhile, Bickford said, Stay & Play Daycare Center intends to build a brand new facility at 256 Charles St. in the fall. The Development Review Board will hear a conditional use permit application for the new facility on June 1.
