Additional funding to reconstruct Sanborn Covered Bridge in Lyndonville is among more than $4 million in federal funds for municipal projects through the Transportation Alternatives Program. The release of the funds was announced Monday by the Vermont Agency of Transportation. In addition to the Lyndon project, the town of Brownington received additional funding for for stormwater mitigation along the Willoughby River. Also, Newark received funds to construct a new salt/sand storage building. They were three of 30 towns statewide named as recipients. “These projects will further enhance and expand our state’s transportation infrastructure,” said Transportation Secretary Joe Flynn. “Improvements to sidewalks, bike paths, and shared-use paths provide Vermonters more transportation options and improve their quality of life.”
