Amazon is ceasing operations in Quebec

Amazon is ceasing operations in Quebec. An Amazon spokesperson tells the CBC that the company will stop operations at seven sites and outsource deliveries to smaller contractors. They say the decision was not linked to the recent unionization of about 200 workers at a warehouse. In all, about 1,700 employees in Quebec and 250 seasonal workers are impacted. Quebec is home to Amazon’s only unionized workforce in Canada.
