Around 30 layoffs are coming to a Shelburne distribution center formerly owned by Vermont Teddy Bear

Around 30 layoffs are coming to a Shelburne distribution center formerly owned by Vermont Teddy Bear. It comes after the business’ apparel divisions, were sold to a new owner. That owner says they could not come to a lease agreement for the  distribution center which is on the same property as Vermont Teddy Bear. Vermont Labor Commissioner Michael Harrington says employees received little to no notice of the layoffs. No Vermont Teddy Bear or Vermont flannel employees are being laid off because they’re owned by a different company now and the teddy bear factory will remain open. The warehouse will close on June 6th.
