Authorities say a Vermont police officer who was shot
Authorities say a Vermont police officer who was shot and seriously injured in the line of duty fired his gun at the suspect. St. Johnsbury Police Capt. Jason Gray was wounded while responding to a domestic violence call on Dec. 13. Vermont state police said they interviewed Gray about the incident on Monday, and they now say he shot at the suspect, Scott Mason. Mason has pleaded not guilty to multiple charges including attempted first-degree murder. Gray is still recovering from his injuries. Troopers say he is fully cooperating with their investigation. The Vermont Attorney General’s Office and the Windham County State’s Attorney’s Office will investigate Gray’s use of force in the officer-involved shooting.
