Barn Destroyed by Fire on Poplar Lane in Lyndonville No Injuries Reported
A barn fire on Poplar Lane prompted a significant emergency response from local fire departments on Sunday evening. At approximately 6:40 p.m., the Lyndonville Fire Department began receiving multiple calls regarding the fire. Responding officers reported heavy smoke and flames visible from Route 5. First responding units found the barn fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters managed to prevent the fire from spreading further to the residence, although the barn ultimately collapsed during the effort to extinguish the flames. There were no reported injuries to humans or animals. The Lyndonville Fire Department received assistance from Lyndon Rescue, East and West Burke, Sutton, Sheffield-Wheelock and Newark Departments The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
