Bear Den Partners Finalize 11 Million Purchase of Burke Mountain with Plans for Major Upgrades

It’s official– the new owners of Burke Mountain have closed on the $11 million purchase. The 72-year-old ski resort had been in court-ordered receivership since 2016 when it was caught up in the massive Kingdom Con fraud scandal. It’s now owned by Bear Den Partners, a group including the Graham family, the Schaefer family and Burke Mountain Academy. All the partners have strong local ties. They have previously said that they plan to triple the resort’s snowmaking capacity and invest in lift and trail maintenance, hotel upgrades and mountain bike trails.
