Concession Stand Looted Days Before Season Start at St Johnsbury Youth Baseball Field

Less than two days before the start of the season, volunteers at St. Johnsbury Youth Baseball arrived at Legion Field to find their concession stand ransacked, leaving them without nearly all their inventory. The break-in occurred at Fred’s Place sometime between 9 p.m. Wednesday and 11 a.m. Thursday, according to league officials. A field maintenance crew member discovered that two padlocked doors had been pried open, and the once fully stocked snack shack was nearly empty. League President Brittany Petty estimated the loss at more than $1,600 in stolen goods, calling the incident both disheartening and frustrating. Based on the sheer volume of missing merchandise. St. Johnsbury Police Officer Stephanie Anderson asked anyone with information about the break-in to contact the department.
