Craftsbury Man Pleads Not Guilty to Lewd Conduct Charges Involving Minors Held on 10000 Bail

A local man pleaded not guilty in Orleans Superior Court on Tuesday to two counts of lewd and lascivious conduct with a child. Andrew Calderwood, 32, of Craftsbury, is accused of masturbating in front of two girls on May 10. State Police began their investigation on May 15. Calderwood was interviewed at the state police barracks in Derby on Monday and told Trooper Kyle Fecher that he did what he was accused of. He was taken into custody and was later transported to Northeast Correctional Complex, where he was lodged for lack of $10,000 bail ahead of a Tuesday arraignment in Orleans Superior Court. As conditions of pretrial release, Calderwood must not contact the girls and he cannot have unsupervised conduct with any child under the age of 16.
