Georgia Woman Sentenced in Vermont for Nurse Impersonation and Identity Theft

A Georgia woman has been sentenced in Vermont for impersonating a nurse. Thirty-eight-year-old Corissa Law of Lawrenceville, Georgia, pleaded guilty to identity theft and unauthorized nursing after working at residential care facilities in Vermont using another person’s credentials. Authorities say the impersonation began in 2022 and extended to several other states. Law was arrested in Georgia and extradited to Vermont, where she was sentenced Thursday to three years in prison—suspended in favor of six years of probation. She still faces additional charges in her home state.
