Hinesburg Woman Arrested After High Speed Chase Through Berlin and Barre

An overnight high-speed chase in Berlin ended in the arrest of a Hinesburg woman. Berlin Police say it started around 1 a.m. when officers tried to pull over a car driving recklessly on Airport Road. They say the driver sped away at speeds of 115 mph, leading police on a chase through Barre Town and Barre City. Police eventually used a spike strip to puncture the front tires. Still, the driver continued for miles until crashing into a yard and trying to run away. Sara Whritenour, 38, of Hinesburg, was arrested and charged with multiple offenses, including eluding police and gross negligent operation. They say she also has five outstanding warrants.
