LDRC Completes Strategic Plan, Receives Grant For Downtown Director

The Lyndon Downtown Revitalization Corporation has completed a five-year plan for improving downtown and has received a $77,426 USDA grant to help carry out the work.

The one-year Rural Business Development Grant will help pay for hiring an executive director, setting up an office, supporting local businesses, promoting businesses and community events, collecting data and seeking additional funding.

LDRC, which will do business as Live Lyndon, is now accepting applications for the executive director position. Resumes and cover letters are due Sept. 28.

The strategic plan covers 2026 through 2031 and was developed through community conversations, a survey, a strengths-and-weaknesses review and discussions among board members and community partners. The planning process began in fall 2025.

The plan focuses on four areas: helping local businesses, making downtown more inviting, promoting downtown and building the organization’s volunteers, partnerships and funding.
