More than $228 million is coming to Vermont through the Internet For All program
More than $228 million is coming to Vermont through the Internet For All program. U.S. Assistant Secretary of Commerce Alan Dickinson joined state officials online Thursday to outline the program’s next steps. Vermont is among three states approved in this round of funding — along with Montana and Oklahoma. The program’s goal is to expand affordable and reliable high-speed internet access and address digital equity. “This is a historic moment for Vermont. Generations before us did really big things. They connected everybody in the country with water and with electricity, they built the interstate highway system. And this is really our generation’s big infrastructure moment,” Dickinson said. Grants are expected to make their way to internet service providers by this time next year.
