Orleans man allegedly killed two people
A Orleans man allegedly killed two people in Orleans with a bat and knife. Cirell M. Brown, 23, of 25 Church Street in Orleans, pleaded not guilty to two counts of felony second-degree murder and a felony charge of burglary into an occupied dwelling. The alleged incident occurred on Tuesday, March 12, at approximately 5:08 p.m. Based on witness statements and preliminary evidence, the alleged victims have been identified as Paula Broe, 61, and Steven Luisi, 65. They lived in Apartment B at 22 Water Street in Orleans. A witness told police that there was a physical fight occurring on Water Street, in Apartment B, in Orleans. When asked if weapons were involved, the witness initially said no, but later said she observed an unknown male beating someone with a baseball bat. A state police detective said he observed what appeared to be a broken baseball bat and knife near the deceased. Then, a male walked down the stairway that led up to the rest of the apartment and stood over the two unresponsive bodies. Another witness said Brown moved back to Orleans around September of 2023. Brown faces a possible sentence of up to 20 years to life in prison.
