Plaistow Woman Killed by Amtrak Train While Trying to Save Dog on Tracks in Exeter

A Plaistow woman was killed and another person injured Monday afternoon when they were struck by an Amtrak train while attempting to rescue a dog from the tracks, police said. The incident occurred at approximately 3:24 p.m. on June 2 in a wooded area near the Newfields Road trestle in Exeter, according to local authorities. Exeter Police and Fire/Rescue responded after train personnel reported the collision.
