Police say a pedestrian who died on Interstate 89 Monday night was lying in the roadway

Police say a pedestrian who died on Interstate 89 Monday night was lying in the roadway before he was hit by multiple vehicles. It happened just before 9 p.m. in Colchester in the northbound lane. State Police say Bhim (Bim) Jogi (Yogi), 38, of Colchester, was lying in the travel lane along the fog line when he was hit by two cars and a tractor-trailer. He died at the scene. Troopers say Jogi was wearing dark clothing and the drivers couldn’t see him. Investigators say there are still a lot of unknowns. “We have no knowledge of why they were walking on the interstate” said State Police Tpr. Quincy Chandler. Police say the drivers of the cars stopped immediately, but they still need to identify and speak with the driver of the tractor-trailer. No charges are expected.
