Richmond Teen Critically Injured in Crash Driver Anthony Burbo Charged with DUI and Negligent Operation

Police say the man responsible for a two-car crash Wednesday that left a Richmond teen seriously injured now faces a slew of charges. The State Police say Anthony  Burbo drifted into oncoming traffic, hitting a car driven by 18-year-old Cody Hoben-Pelissier, and sending him to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Cody Fischer witnessed the crash and attempted to help the victims. “When I initially ran out to the first car that I could see on the side of the road that was up against the bank, I ran over to that one and I started assisting the people in that car. And then there was another lady behind me that came up and said, there’s another car that I ran past. I didn’t even see it, it was squished so small that I didn’t even see it when I went by,” he said. Burbo and one of his three passengers also received minor injuries. Burbo, who police say is homeless, was arrested for suspicion of DUI. He pleaded not guilty in court Thursday morning to charges of gross negligent operation with serious bodily injury resulting. He is being held on $3,500 bail. Hoben-Pelissier remains in critical condition.
