Some unhappy news to former customers of Freihofer’s Bakery Outlet on Memorial Drive. “Sorry, we are permanently closed,” reads a sign on the outlet door where people have purchased items for several years. People reported being surprised and disappointed to find the sign on the door when they went to shop. The Freihofer’s outlet was a destination for bread, rolls, buns, cookies and other baked goods. The St. Johnsbury Center store is just one of several locations where the parent company, Bimbo Bakeries, has closed recently. A statement from Bimbo, based in Pennsylvania,  states that the company is assisting workers who lost their jobs “to help ease them through this transition.”
