Two women from St. Johnsbury were killed in a crash

Two women from St. Johnsbury were killed in a crash off Interstate 91 in Barnet on Saturday afternoon. Bryana Gillis, 28, and Jessica Norrie, 27, were found dead in a 2015 Nissan Versa. Trooper Jason Haley reported they were not wearing their seat belts. Two other occupants, Christian Montandon, 44, of Bradford, and Richard Kendall III, of St. Johnsbury survived the crash. Trooper Haley stated that Montandon suffered serious injuries, and Kendall suffered only minor injuries. They also were not wearing seat belts, according to the trooper. Montandon was taken to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, and Kendall went to Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital. State police were alerted to the crash just after 1 p.m. on Saturday. Trooper Haley reported that “for unknown reasons” the Nissan left the west side of the southbound lane of the interstate, struck a large tree and overturned. Rescuers found that Kendall and Montandon made it out of the vehicle on their own. Trooper Haley reported that the crash investigation is ongoing and at this point he doesn’t know who was driving the vehicle. Anyone who may have witnessed this crash is asked to call Trooper Haley from the St Johnsbury State Police Barracks.
