Vermont Health Provider Sues Bank After Losing 270000 to Fraud
A Vermont primary care office is suing the Bank of Burlington after losing $270,000 in fraudulent transactions. Evergreen Family Health Partners says they opened an account with the bank earlier this year, trusting its fraud protections. However, within two days, a fraudster allegedly drained the account through 11 unauthorized transfers. Evergreen claims the bank refused to reimburse the funds, despite being notified immediately. The lawsuit argues that the suspicious withdrawals should have raised red flags. The Bank of Burlington has yet to respond publicly to the lawsuit.
