Vermont Inmate Faces Over 1100 Contempt Charges for Repeatedly Contacting Victim from Prison
A Vermont inmate is facing more than 1,100 contempt of court charges after police say he repeatedly tried to contact the victim in his case. Todd Slade, 51, of Poultney, is an inmate at the Marble Valley Correctional Center in Rutland. Vermont State Police say he contacted or tried to contact the victim in his case 1,146 times via phone or internet between December 2024 and March 2025. Police say he wanted the victim to tell investigators things about the case to get him released from custody. Slade remains in prison and will be arraigned on the new charges next month.
