Vermont Man Arrested in Virgin Islands for Threatening State Prosecutor
A Vermont man has been arrested in the U.S. Virgin Islands for allegedly threatening a state prosecutor. Todd Hoyte, 55, of Grand Isle, faces federal charges for making violent threats against Grand Isle State’s Attorney Doug DiSabito. Court documents show Hoyte left multiple voicemails containing hate speech and death threats, reportedly telling DiSabito that “his days are numbered.” The threats stem from a 2022 aggravated domestic assault charge prosecuted by DiSabito. Hoyte, a habitual offender, has an extensive criminal record spanning decades. Federal authorities say he fled Vermont before his recent arrest. It’s unclear when he will be extradited to face charges in Vermont.
