Vermont State Police and other first responders were on the scene of a single-vehicle accident Thursday afternoon on Hospital Drive, where a pickup truck went down an embankment. According to state police, Midge Lubot, 76, of St. Johnsbury, left the roadway shortly after 1 p.m. in her 2016 Ford F150 and struck a power pole near the intersection with Depot Hill Road, causing a power outage at a nearby daycare center and a home. Green Mountain Power Corp was summoned to the scene. Lubot was not entrapped and able to exit the vehicle on her own. She was transported to NVRH by CALEX Ambulance at 1:40 p.m. for suspected minor injuries. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
