Vermont State Police arrested three people in connection to a stabbing of a St. Johnsbury man
Vermont State Police arrested three people in connection to a stabbing of a St. Johnsbury man. Facing charges of aggravated assault, assault and robbery is Michael John, 29, no fixed address but resides in northeastern Vermont. Brandi Whittemore, 31, of St. Johnsbury, is charged with two counts of aiding in the commission of a felony, and Gary Audas, 51, of Lyndonville, is charged with accessory after the fact. A State Police report notes that they were involved in the stabbing of Alan Tanguay, 32, of St. Johnsbury on Tuesday morning in the area of Avenue A and New Boston Road in St. Johnsbury. Tanguay is in stable condition at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. He had reportedly been stabbed multiple times. The investigation determined the assault on Tanguay was part of a “drug-related” dispute. John, Audas and Whittemore were arrested following a motor vehicle stop Wednesday morning on Interstate 91 in Barnet. The investigation had determined who the suspects were and the details of the vehicle they were likely driving. They were taken into custody on the side of the road and driven to the barracks in St. Johnsbury. They were scheduled for arraignment in Caledonia Superior Court on Wednesday afternoon.
