State Police are looking for the driver of a truck towing a trailer who was involved in a crash that injured a bicyclist on Route 2 on Friday evening. Daniel Baumann, 23, of Wolcott, was riding a bicycle west on Route 2 near the intersection with Rt. 15 sometime between 8:15 and 8:30 p.m. on Friday when he was reportedly struck by an object carried on a trailer that passed him. Investigating Trooper Mark Pohlman reported that witnesses said Baumann was riding on the shoulder of the road when he was struck. The trooper said the trailer may have been carrying sheet metal. Baumann suffered a minor injury in the incident and was taken to Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital for treatment. Witnesses reported the vehicle did not stop after Baumann was struck and continued traveling west on Route 2. Anyone with information should contact the State Police in St. Johnsbury.
