Orange County Woman Charged with Involuntary Manslaughter in Barre Shooting Death
An Orange County woman has been charged with involuntary manslaughter in the shooting death of a Barre man on Thursday. Donna Robinson, 43, of Washington, was identified as the person responsible for the shooting death of Franklin Driscoll, 45, of Barre. Robinson and Driscoll arrived at the home to confront someone else over drugs. Robinson told police the two were on the stairs inside when Driscoll tried to hand her a gun. She pushed it away and the gun went off. Driscoll was wounded in the abdomen and fell down the stairs. He was taken to the UVM Medical Center, where he died from his injuries at 4 a.m. Friday. Robinson pleaded not guilty to involuntary manslaughter, five counts of reckless endangerment, and simple assault for allegedly punching the woman they went to confront. Robinson is due back in court on May 16th.
