Lyndonville Firefighters Save Home from Major Damage in Raymond Street Blaze

A downtown home on Raymond Street is still standing thanks to a swift response from local firefighters Wednesday night. The Lyndonville Fire Department was dispatched around 8 p.m. and arrived to find smoke pouring from the first floor of a two-story residence. Firefighters made an immediate interior entry and discovered the bulk of the fire in the living room. Crews quickly contained the flames before the blaze could spread throughout the home. Fire Chief Jeff Corrow called it a best-case scenario. “Generally speaking, the amount of smoke and fire that we had, these kinds of structures normally are not still standing. The home’s occupants — a father and daughter — escaped without injury. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
