A Brownington man was arrested on multiple charges

A Brownington man was arrested on multiple charges as a result of a traffic stop December 1 on Severance Hill Road. Jason Degreenia, 45, of Brownington was cited into Court Monday, December 4 on charges of aggravated operation without owners’ consent, identity theft, possession of stolen property over $900, habitual offender, criminal DLS due to DUI, false information to a police officer, and two arrest warrants. Chad Degreenia, 42, of Brownington, and Lisa Johnson, 53, of Barton were listed as victims in this case. The incident began at 2:26 p.m. December 1 when Lyndonville police observed a speed violation on Severance Hill Road. Upon stopping the car, the operator impersonated a relative, police stated. Further investigation revealed the operator was Jason Degreenia, who police found to be the subject of two arrest warrants out of Orleans County. Degreenia was found to be under lifetime criminal suspension for prior DUI actions. Record checks revealed that the vehicle was reported as stolen out of Barton on November 20.
