An armed robber hit two Northeast Kingdom convenience stores

An armed robber hit two Northeast Kingdom convenience stores Sunday afternoon and State Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect. The first robbery was just after 1 p.m. at Nick’s Gas N Go at 590 Main Street, Lyndon. A male suspect entered the store and displayed a firearm in an attempt to steal cash from the store, stated Det. Sgt. David Robillard. Security camera images from the Lyndon store show the suspect attempting to operate a touchscreen cash register while holding a handgun. About five hours later, just before 6 p.m., a male suspect wearing the same outfit robbed Center Tower gas station in St. Johnsbury Center. Investigation revealed that the suspect entered the store and stole an undisclosed amount of money from the register when the clerk opened it, said Det. Sgt. Drew Cota. No gun was displayed during the second incident.
