Beta Electric Plane Completes Historic 20-State Journey Across US
Vermont-based electric aircraft manufacturer Beta Technologies made history Tuesday as its Alia aircraft returned to Burlington after a groundbreaking cross-country journey. The electric plane visited 82 airports across 20 states, showcasing its reliability and efficiency. Notably, the aircraft navigated through the world’s busiest airport in Atlanta and relied solely on Beta’s proprietary charging network along the way. Beta’s Paul Howell called the achievement a major step forward for the future of sustainable aviation, with the company preparing to deliver its first aircraft to Air New Zealand and Bristow in Norway later this year. The Federal Aviation Administration is continuing its evaluation of electric air taxis, a move that could soon bring these cutting-edge aircraft into widespread use.
