Eight kayakers were rescued on Malletts Bay, including one person who was found in the water

Eight kayakers were rescued on Malletts Bay, including one person who was found in the water. The Colchester Police Marine Unit and the U.S. Coast Guard assisted the kayakers near the mouth of the Lamoille River, while there was a strong south wind and two-to-three foot waves. All eight were transferred to the coast guard’s vessel and transported to the Malletts Bay public boat launch. No injuries were reported following the rescue. The police want boaters to be aware that conditions can rapidly change depending where you are on the lake.
