Essex Junction Woman Sentenced to Federal Prison for Embezzling Nearly $200K

A Vermont woman will serve time in federal prison for embezzling from her employer. Federal officials say Jennifer LaBonte, 45, of Essex Junction, pleaded guilty to wire fraud after embezzling nearly $200,000 from several car dealerships in Burlington. She was sentenced on Monday to four months in prison. LaBonte will go to prison in May. She has already paid restitution in full along with a $7,500 fine.
