Overnight Fire Displaces 54 Residents and Injures Two at South Burlington Apartment Building
Two people were reportedly taken to a medical facility, dozens are displaced and a residential building is significantly damaged after an overnight fire. South Burlington Fire Department officials say at 10:05 p.m. Friday, they got the call about the fire at 327 Lime Kiln Road. They said the building is four stories with 44 units. The fire was on the third and fourth floors. Residents were evacuated as firefighters worked to put the fire out. No other buildings were damaged. One firefighter and one resident were transported to UVM Medical Center for evaluation. A total of 54 occupants were displaced. A reunification and rehabilitation site with Red Cross resources was established at the St. Michael’s College On Campus Road in Colchester. The fire is being investigated by the South Burlington Fire Marshal’s Office. The damage estimate is yet to be determined, but the building suffered significant fire, smoke and water damage.
