Police say a Vermont man is hospitalized after being hit by a pickup truck

Police say a Vermont man is hospitalized after being hit by a pickup truck when the driver swerved to avoid loose dogs. Vermont State Police say just before 6 a.m. Wednesday, they responded to a report of a car hitting a pedestrian on Lake Dunmore Road in Leicester. (Lester) Investigators say Timothy Lester, 54, was walking in the northbound lane when multiple loose dogs from a nearby house ran into the road. They say a pickup in the southbound lane swerved to avoid hitting the dogs and hit Lester. Lester was airlifted to the UVM Medical Center where he is currently listed in stable condition.
