Police say a Vermont woman was drunk when she drove the wrong way on Interstate 89 on Sunday. It happened in Richmond at about 12:45 p.m. Vermont State Police say they got multiple reports of a car driving erratically as it headed south on the highway. Then callers began reporting the vehicle had changed direction and was driving the wrong way– north in the southbound lanes. Witnesses said the driver eventually turned around to head in the right way– south in the southbound lanes– at more than 90 mph. Troopers caught up with the driver in a parking lot in Waterbury. They arrested Ericka Clark, 51, of Barre, for suspicion of DUI. She was cited to appear in court next month to face charges of DUI and grossly negligent operation.
