State officials are asking Vermont pharmacies and other health care providers impacted by a cyber attack last week to contact them. Around 200,000 Vermont Medicaid patients were running into issues last week getting their medications from pharmacies after Change Healthcare, the company that processes Medicaid pharmacy claims for tens of thousands of pharmacies nationwide, experienced a cyber attack last Wednesday. The Department of Vermont Health Access says the outage caused by the incident is expected to continue through the week. Some people have had to pay for prescriptions out of pocket — which is against the law. Officials with the Vermont Agency of Human Services say Change Healthcare is working with pharmacies to get reimbursements to Vermonters.
