The town of Brandon is turning to an online auction to help

The town of Brandon is turning to an online auction to help replace some of its older vehicles. The sale of two old police cruisers and two highway department trucks has fetched over 100 bids so far on the website Municibid. Town Manager Seth Hopkins says they’ve used the site in the past to help reach a wider network of interested buyers and that all proceeds will be used to help replace the vehicles. “We would really heavily market it to the people in Brandon, and make sure everybody in Brandon and surrounding communities knew about it, but it would also cast a wider net,” Hopkins said. It’s transparent in terms of being a really open process. The bidding ends on Wednesday, January 22.
