Three residents were taken into custody on November 9
Three residents were taken into custody on November 9 after a routine traffic stop turned into multiple drug arrests. It took place at about 7:14 p.m. near the Mountain View Drive/Route 5 intersection, where a vehicle operated by Matthew Demers, 46, of Lyndon was pulled over after State Police troopers observed several motor vehicle violations. Passengers Antonio Hammond, 39, of St. Johnsbury, and Michelle Deaette, 31, of St. Johnsbury were believed to be wanted on in-state warrants. Standard Field Sobriety Tests revealed Demers was operating the motor vehicle while under the influence. Deaette and Hammond were each held on $200 bail at Northeast Correctional Complex. Demers was transported to the VSP St. Johnsbury barracks, where he was cited to appear on March 4th. Hammond was cited to appear November 13th and 15 on two counts of possession of cocaine, and on two in-state warrants. Deaette was also cited to appear on November 12th, and at a later date on charges of possession of cocaine, and an in-state warrant.
