Vermont State police raided a Hardwick residence on Friday

Vermont State police raided a Hardwick residence on Friday in search of stolen property, including firearms as part of a major ongoing investigation into crimes in the area, officials said. Joel Gouin, 38, of Hardwick will be facing charges later this month for burglary and possession of stolen property. Members of the state police along with the Vermont Drug Task Force were part of the raid at 7 Hillside Street. The search was not far from the Hardwick Fire Station on Vermont 15. Gouin had been staying at the Hillside Street residence until state police recently arrested him in connection with a series of crimes in the Walden/Danville area. Those charges included burglary, grand larceny, possession of stolen property, petit larceny, operation without the owners consent and violation of conditions of release. Anybody within information about the burglaries or recent crimes in the area, should call state police at (802) 748-3111.
