A West Burke woman pleaded not guilty to a felony charge of aggravated assault on Friday
A West Burke woman pleaded not guilty to a felony charge of aggravated assault on Friday for allegedly threatening her boyfriend with a knife. Raven Burrington, 28, was arrested on Thursday for the alleged crime and held on $500 until she could be arraigned. State police were alerted about 3:40 p.m. on Thursday of a domestic assault at a Bugbee Crossing Road residence. He was told by the boyfriend that Burrington had held out a knife as he entered the bedroom where she was. In a video, Burrington can be heard saying, “if you come near me again, I’ll slit your wrists.” The boyfriend also Burrington has threatened him with a knife before. After her arraignment, Burrington was free to go, but as conditions of her release, she must not contact the boyfriend and must not possess firearms or dangerous/deadly weapons. The maximum penalty for a conviction of felony aggravated domestic assault is 15 years in prison and a $25,000 fine.
