A man from Canada has been arrested in a crash

A man from Canada has been arrested in a crash between a car and a tractor-trailer that killed a Vermont woman on Thursday morning. The wreck happened at about 6:45 a.m. on Route 100 in Moretown. Vermont State Police say the truck was headed south when it crossed the center line and struck an oncoming car head-on. Troopers say the driver of the car, Rosetta Weber, 39, of Waitsfield, died at the scene. Police say the truck driver, Satnam Singh, 24, of Brampton, Ontario, was arrested after he was discharged from the hospital. He’s charged with gross negligent operation with death resulting. Singh was held for lack of $150,000 bail. He’s due in court this afternoon. Police say the crash is still under investigation and anyone with information is asked to call the barracks in Berlin. The road was closed for nearly 12 hours. It reopened to traffic at about 5 p.m.
