A man from Putney, Vt., was flown by emergency helicopter

A man from Putney, Vt., was flown by emergency helicopter to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center on Saturday afternoon after suffering serious injuries when he crashed the off-road recreational vehicle he was operating in Errol, N.H.

Michael Anderson, 42, was operating his UTV on the 13 Mile Woods Trail in Errol when he lost control and rolled the machine over. A child passenger, was secured in a child restraint system and was wearing a helmet with eye protection, suffered minor injuries. The child was taken to Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin, N.H. for treatment. The crash is still under investigation, however it is believed that the downhill terrain present where the crash occurred in combination with a brake issue found on the UTV both played a role in this.
