A woman from Westmore was pronounced dead at the scene of her car crash
A woman from Westmore was pronounced dead at the scene of her car crash on Willoughby Lake Road in Barton on Tuesday. According to state police, Suzanne Leblanc, 73, was not wearing a seat belt while driving a 2020 Lincoln Aviator east when the vehicle left the road and struck a tree head-on. Trooper Chris Hein stated in his report that the investigation of the crash is ongoing, and the reason why Leblanc’s vehicle left the road is not yet known. There was no precipitation at the time, and the trooper said the road was plowed with “trace residual snow” on it. Troopers from the barracks in Derby responded to the crash as well as other troopers from the Crash Reconstruction Team, members of the Orleans Fire Department and Orleans Ambulance Service personnel. Members of the public having information that could help with the investigation are urged to call 802-334-8881; ask to speak with a trooper. The road was closed for about four hours as a result of the crash and the investigation that followed. Wright’s Towing and Recovery responded to remove the vehicle.
