NEKCA announced the relocation of its Newport Head Start and Early Head Start program
Northeast Kingdom Community Action (NEKCA) announced on January 11 the relocation of its Newport Head Start & Early Head Start program to a new facility at 76 Lakemont Drive. “The move is part of NEKCA’s ongoing commitment to providing quality early childhood education and support services to the Newport community,” said NEKCA’s Truley Wingert. “The new location offers a spacious and welcoming environment, designed to enhance the learning experience for children enrolled in the Head Start and Early Head Start programs. The upgraded facility reflects NEKCA’s dedication to creating a nurturing space that fosters the academic, social, and emotional development of young minds.” Head Start services cover a wide range, including early education, health, nutrition, mental health, and specialized support for children with unique needs. The Newport Head Start program has slots available for children ages 3-5 and Home Visiting slots available for expectant families and children ages 0-3.
