Police who responded to a domestic violence call in Hartford on Friday say the suspect threatened them with a gun. Hartford officers were called to Bugbee Street where they interviewed two female victims with visible injuries. One was 91, the other was 72. Both women were sent to Dartmouth Health for treatment. When officers went to speak with suspect John Beane, they say he emerged from a second-floor window and told them he had a gun and intended to shoot. After several hours of a standoff and negotiations, police left the area. According to police, on Saturday afternoon, Beane’s relative called and said he was having a medical emergency. Crews found Beane in a semi-conscious state barricaded in a bedroom. Beane declined treatment, and police arrested him for one count of first-degree aggravated domestic assault. Crews transported him to the Southern State Correctional Facility where he is being held without bail pending arraignment on Tuesday.
