The Vermont Cannabis Control Board has issued a consumer warning
The Vermont Cannabis Control Board has issued a consumer warning over potential fungicide contamination of marijuana products produced by Derby based Holland Cannabis, the subject of a pending investigation into fungicide exposure. The CCB ordered that all sales of Holland’s flower and prerolled, be halted and that any consumers possessing the affected products return them to the establishment where they were purchased. The CCB says in its alert that products from Holland Cannabis have been confirmed to be sold at Kushies in Derby, Mary Jane Mountain in Montgomery, and The Green Man in St. Johnsbury, and other stores in Vermont. The investigation is into the use of a fungicide. The health impacts of inhaling it are considered minimal but could lead to rash, headache, diarrhea, abdominal pain, vomiting, nosebleeds and eye irritation. Anyone who experiences such symptoms should seek medical attention and report the incident through the control board’s website. As a result, Holland Cannabis, which was involved in a similar incident in early 2023, is facing a potential $20,000 fine and revocation of its license. Safety checks in March found some Holland prerolled, tested positive for the fungicide in laboratory analysis.
