Two people were taken into custody on Friday after a tumultuous incident on Swamp Road. State police had received information that a fugitive on the run, Ryan Sherman, 32, of Newbury, was hiding in the attic of the Swamp Road residence. He was wanted on a no-bail fugitive warrant issued by probation and parole. While troopers were on scene, Tanya Holbrook, 29, of Newbury, allegedly impeded and hindered the investigation and assaulted law enforcement who were trying to take Sherman into custody. Once Sherman was in custody, he allegedly attempted to escape by fleeing into nearby woods. He’s being held without bail at Northeast Regional Correctional Facility.
